Susana completed her J.D. degree at the University of Western Ontario in London and her LL.M degree with specilization in International Business at Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto. Susana earned her civil law degree in 2008 at Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Caracas, Venezuela.
Susana practices primarily in the areas of real estate, commercial and corporate law. She has acted for clients in acquisition and divestiture of assets as well as cross border transactions between Canada and Latin America. Susana's experience also includes practice of immigration law, including appeals to the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada. Susana has published various articles related to the natural resources sector, corporate social responsibility and foreign anti-corruption practices and regulations to be considered by Canadian Corporations when operating abroad and nationwide. Prior to becoming a lawyer in Canada, Susana practised law at a major full service law firm in Venezuela. This experience provided Susana with a thorough understanding of the legal system, culture and business practices in Latin America. Susana’s background and qualifications allows her to advise Canadian and international clients on a full range of Latin American matters, as well as Latin American clients on their businesses in Canada.
